   施一公,教授,結構生物學家。本科畢業于清華大學生物科學與技術系,博士畢業于約翰·霍普金斯大學醫學院,曾擔任普林斯頓大學分子生物學系終身教授,Warner-Lambert/Parke-Davis講席教授。2008年回國后擔任清華大學生命科學學院院長,2015年升任副校長。2013年他先后分別當選為美國藝術與科學學院院士、美國國家科學院外籍院士、中國科學院院士。2018年施一公教授離開清華大學,開始籌建西湖大學,并擔任西湖大學第一任校長。


   施一公教授主要從事細胞凋亡及膜蛋白兩個領域的研究,在SmadTGF-的調控機理、磷酸酶PP2A的結構生物學方面做出了具有國際影響的工作。迄今為止,他在國際權威學術雜志發表學術論文百余篇,其中以第一作者或通訊作者在cell發表18篇、nature發表24篇、science發表15篇,這些工作系統地揭示了哺乳動物、果蠅和線蟲中細胞凋亡通路的分子機理,已有若干研究成果申請專利,用于治療癌癥的藥物研發。

   Shi, Yigong, professor, structural biologist. He received his bachelor's degree from Tsinghua University and PhD degree in Biophysics from Johns Hopkins University. He was the full professor and Warner-Lambert/Parke-Davis Professor in the department of Molecular Biology at Princeton University. In 2008, he came back and pursued his career at Tsinghua University, becoming the dean of the School of Life Sciences there and later in 2015 appointed the vice-president of Tsinghua university. In 2013, Shi was elected as academician of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, foreign academician of the American Academy of Sciences, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, respectively. In 2018, Shi left Tsinghua university and dedicated himself to the establishment of Xihu University, being the first president of it.

Shi studied the molecular mechanisms that govern the awakening of apoptotic enzymes in worms, fruit flies, and mammals, seeking to illuminate function by revealing their structures. He and his laboratory have solved the structures of more than 40 proteins and protein complexes. To date Shi has published more than one hundred of papers on international academic journals, including 18 on Cell, 24 on Nature, 15 on Science, which elucidated the structure and interaction mechanism of proteins involved in cell apoptosis pathway. Many of his achievements have been protected by patents, used for the research and development of drugs in the treatment of cancers.
